Substantive Edit

A substantive edit is an overall assessment of your work of fiction. It focuses on the structure and content of the story. Substantive edits can cover plot cohesion, characterization, flow, story arc, and much more. This is the preliminary stage of editing after you've completed your first draft.
We offer both a comprehensive editorial letter and a post-edit consultation with our Substantive Edit service. The letter will detail suggested changes to strengthen your work and create a book that readers in your target audience will love!

Line Edit

Line edits are the next step in the editing process. Using Microsoft track changes, we read each sentence and point out echoes (unwanted repetition), awkward sentence structures, errors, and more. This is a deep and thorough look into the writing itself. Because line editing can be subjective, we offer a free sample line edit of 1000 words to see if our style is a good fit for your unique needs.

Bundle Discounts:
1. We offer a substantive and line edit for .015/word up to 100,000 words. This bundle involves an initial editorial letter and, at minimum, two read-throughs of the story.
2. We charge a discounted rate of .02/word, up to 100,000 words, for those who wish to use all three editorial services.

Proofreading

Now that you've critiqued, edited, and polished your story into its finest form, it is time for one last proofread before launching your words into the world. We offer a free first chapter read to see if your story is right for our proofreading service. Edits will be made using Microsoft track changes.
